Principal - Mr Nick Jensen

I have had the privilege of working at some very good schools in my career, both here in New Zealand and abroad. Most recently, I have returned from Suffolk, GB, where I was Director of Studies at The Old School Henstead, an independent preparatory school for boys and girls.

Mid-way through 2018, I was awarded a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Waikato. During my study, I completed a research dissertation on the effects of physical activity and pupils' perceptions of learning engagement.

It is an honour to be the principal of Kiwitahi School. Nestled in the dairy farming heartland of the Waikato, the school has a long history of service to the local community, stemming back to 1913 when the school first opened its doors.

We continue to be a proud rural school, benefitting from small class sizes and a very supportive community and Board of Trustees. We encourage hard work, good behaviour and polite manners, balanced with a deliberate intention to let kids be kids - to have a sense of adventure, take risks and develop resilience.

You are warmly welcome here. Please visit and see our school in action. Our teachers, pupils and I would be glad to show you around.
